What kind of soap do you make?

We make traditional “cold process” soaps similar to the way Susan’s grandmother made soap. The process involves combining oils and butters (fats) with a liquid sodium hydroxide (lye) mixture. A chemical reaction called saponification occurs between the lye and fat, which turns the ingredients into soap. When the process is complete and the soaps are cured, there is absolutely no lye left and you have a beautiful mild bar of soap. All of the natural glycerin that is so good for your skin is retained in the bar after saponification (unlike many commercially manufactured soaps that extract the glycerin to sell for other uses). We use a variety of the finest vegetable and exotic oils, butters and botanicals, including organic ingredients, to give our soaps different types of beneficial properties and appearance. No animal fats are used in any of our products.

How can I make my handmade soap last longer?

Making your soap last longer depends a lot on how you take care of it. It helps to keep it out of a puddle of water by using a draining soap holder that allows air flow around the soap. We sell these types of draining soap holders here.

Where do you ship?

We ship to all 50 states in the USA using the US Postal Service. We can also ship to Canada and some countries by special arrangement. For international orders, please contact us directly prior to placing your order so we can assist you with your order and provide an accurate shipping cost.

We also offer free shipping via local pick up for customers in the Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisades, Colorado areas. For local pick up, please leave a note during checkout. You will be contacted via email when your order is ready so arrangements can be made for picking it up. Shipping costs charged to your account will be refunded after pick up is made.

Do you offer samples?

Yes, we love to receive samples and assume you do too! We include samples in every order so you can try out different Bella Fresca products.

Are your products vegan?

Our products are not exclusively vegan, however we do make a range of vegan products. Each product lists ingredients, and vegan products are identified. You can enter “vegan” in the product search field for a list of our vegan products.

Do you make organic products?

Yes, we make a selection of soaps, body butters and lip balms using 100% certified organic ingredients. You can find them here.

Are your products tested on animals?

No, absolutely not! All of our products are tested on willing family and friends, never on animals. We also source cruelty-free ingredients as well.
